    Ignacio Allende y Unzaga, was a Captain of the Spanish Army in Mexico. He came to sympathize with the Mexican independence movement and attended the secret meetings organized by Josefa Ortiz de Domínguez. He fought with Hidalgo but was captured and executed for treason.
